FALL OF THE AZTECS








INTRODUCTION
Two player strategic game.
One player controls the Aztecs.
The other player controls the Incas, Mayans, and Spaniards.

VICTORY CONDITIONS
Destroy all the cities of your opponent.

THE MAP
Use a hex map.
Indicate difficult terrain.
The map describes the northern half of South America.
The Aztec cities are centrally located.
The Incas are to the north.
The Mayans are to the south.
The Spanish have settlements along the Atlantic coast.
The Aztecs start with 4 cities and one Capitol city.
The Mayans start with 3 cities.
The Incas start with 2 cities.
The Spanish start with one port city.
Cities must be spaced at least 5 hexes apart.
Cities occupy a single hex.

CHITS
Use counters or chits to represent units.

SETUP
The Aztecs start with 30 units.
The Mayans start with 20 units.
The Incas start with 10 units.
The Spanish (Conquistadors) start with 4 units.
Units must start within 2 hexes of one of their cities.

EVENT PHASE
Roll 1D6 times on the Event Table.

A player picks which of his units succumbs.

GOLD PHASE
Cities produce 1D6 Gold each.
The Aztec Capitol city produces 2D6 Gold.
The Incas, Mayans, and Spaniards have separate gold reserves.
For example Inca gold cannot be used to buy a Spanish city.

RECRUIT PHASE
Aztec units cost 6 gold each.
Inca units cost 6 gold each.
Mayan units cost 4 gold each.
Conquistador units cost 10 gold each.
Recruited units must be placed within 2 hexes of one of their cities.
A nationality can feed a maximum of 10 units per city they control.
Excess units are removed from play.
Cities can be built at a cost 24 Gold.
Cities must be spaced at least 5 hexes apart.

MOVEMENT PHASES
Units can move 1D6 hexes. Roll for each unit before it moves.
Units may move 2D6 hexes but they cannot attack.
Difficult terrain counts as 2 hexes to enter. 
Only one unit per hex. No stacking.
Units may pass through friendly units.
Units may not enter spaces occupied by enemy units.

ATTACK PHASES
A unit can attack one adjacent enemy unit.
A unit in a city can always be attacked.
A unit not in a city can only be attacked on a roll of
1-2 on 1D6. This is called the search roll.
Conquistadors can be attacked on a roll of 1-3 on 1D6.
If there is combat, both units roll combat dice:
Aztec units roll 3D6.
Inca units roll 3D6.
Mayan units roll 2D6.
Conquistador units roll 5D6.
The attacker gets to roll 1 extra die.
Units in cities get to roll 2 extra dice.
The higher roll wins. The loser is killed.
The attacker, if he wins, may search & attack again.
A city is destroyed by an enemy unit entering it.
A unit that destroys a city gains 6D6 gold in loot.
